Ever since i saw Amelie Labarthe work at this years graduation show down at Central Saint Martins , i new she was something special and different, so much so i picked up a bunch of her business cards and made the effort to give them out to my friends.
As a Textile Designer graduating in MA Textile Futures, she has grown into her own distinctive style which is almost child like and sweet yet impressive and thoughtful, just like a large stick of candy floss at the fun fair.
You cant help but warm to it and appreciate the time and effort put in.
Her use of different types of materials and different stitching techniques go hand in hand with her vivid imaginative ideas. making it quite refreshing from the usual computerized enhancing work which normally gets the lime light in the design world of today.
She has a large catalog of work and also dabbles in illustration and other stuff.
And with the the current trend in design at the moment to be things which are hand made. i personally feel you should
take note, because i only expect big things from this woman.
