10.00am-11.00am: Practical networking skills

An interactive hour to help you develop the skills and confidence to turn new contacts into networking opportunities. Practice speaking about your work and building relationships, figure out your own networking style and meet new people.

2.00pm-4.00pm: Talking Shop: selling your creative work


Learn how to make the most of markets, fairs and retail opportunities with this practical guide to selling your work. Find out how you can get involved in the Arts London Winter Market taking place in the last week of term (see www.suarts.org/wintermarket for more details). We'll cover pricing your work, dealing with customers, handling sales and setting up your space for maximum effect! Speakers: Ellen O' Hara of Cockpit Arts, designer Rebecca Chitty (CSM, 2003), Product of Your Environment and Adam Thow, Head of Retail and Buying at the Southbank Centre.

This is an opportunity to listen to some of our industry's leading women entrepreneurs whose stories will inspire female students to turn their ideas into reality. If you are a visual creator the internet is an important portal for promoting your work. This event will discuss aspects of intellectual property you need to consider before displaying your work online and explains how you can safeguard your work and make money even when everybody will be able to copy you.
